Alterations are done at The Bridal Connection by talented and experienced seamstresses.  It should be expected by the majority of brides and their wedding party that some form of alteration will need to be done on their dresses.   The alteration period is the time when the seamstress will custom fit the gown and can modify or incorporate other designs into the dress for that one of a kind look.

1. The first step to a perfect fit is correct measurements.  If you are not able to be measured by a bridal consultant at The Bridal Connection, please find a tailor or bridal/tux shop in your area to ensure proper measurements.
2. It is important to try on your dress or tux as soon as it arrives in the store.
3. You should schedule your first fitting 6-8 weeks prior to the wear date.
4. Bridal gowns generally require three fittings.  If you are having your dress steamed an appointment will be made after your final fitting to pick-up.
5. Bridesmaids generally need two fittings.  If you are having your dress steamed an appointment will be made after your final fitting to pick-up.
6. Tuxes come in the week of the event and need to be tried on immediately.
7. Alteration charges vary.  Please feel free to call The Bridal Connection to ask any questions or speak with the seamstress before you're your first fitting.

Fittings and Alterations Notice:

Please understand that when you purchase your gown and/or dress, we will order from the manufacturer's recommended size charts based on the measurements provided, unless you state otherwise.  Do not be alarmed that sizing charts vary from ready to wear clothing.  Our agreement will be reflected in our contract as ordered and reflected on your receipt.

Alterations and their associated costs should be expected.  Your apparel is not custom fit at the factory, but to the manufacturer's sizing charts.   Weight fluctuations and pregnancy will definitely change the dress fit as originally measured and ordered to the time of the event.  The seamstresses we employ or contract with are experts in their field and will be happy to discuss the alterations process and costs prior to agreeing to the course of action.  Our fees are very reasonable and below many area competitors.  Regardless, you have the option to use our services or go elsewhere.
