Here are some fun ideas for integrating your "something blue" into your wedding, even if "blue" isn't one of your wedding colors!

* Add a blue feather or simple brooch to your hair.
* Wear blue shoes! If you're not interested in colorful shoes, paint or purchase shoes with blue bottoms, invisible unless you kick up your feet.
* Wear a blue garter!
* Adorn yourself sapphire or blue gemmed jewelry.

Maid of Honor Duties

Written by Jessica Henderson
Maid of Honor Duties

The duties of a Maid of Honor are varied. She is to be a trusted friend and confident.

*     She is to assist the bride in planning the wedding.

*     She should be willing to pitch in wherever needed.

*     She is to stay with the bride all times during the day of the wedding to keep the bride calm and assist the bride with
       whatever help she needs.

*     She helps the bride get ready.

*     She helps to arrange the bride's dress, veil and train. However once the bride gets to the altar; she should not be fussed
       over, as it is distracting.

*     She carries the grooms ring for the bride.

*     She holds the brides bouquet during the ceremony.

*     She signs the marriage certificate as a witness.

*     She may offer a toast at the reception.

*     She is responsible to host a shower for the bride.

*     The maid of honor should bring a few things with her to the wedding...maybe a little (wedding day emergency kit.

Flowers and June Weddings

Written by Dan Bunkers
Ever wonder why brides carry fragrant bouquets on their wedding day? Or why June seems to be the popular month for weddings?  Well, back in the days before indoor plumbing, bathing in the winter was a bit of a challenge.  Baths were taken after the thaw, typically in the early month of spring - May.  Wedding preparations were made soon after that and by June, brides were ready to be married.  But in case they were already smelling, well, a bit "ripe", they made sure to carry fragrant bunches of flowers.  This way the blooms would mask any negative odor.
