The process of finding your wedding dress is one of the best parts of wedding preparation. It's exciting ...but can also be a bit overwhelming if you do not plan ahead.

COME TO The Bridal Connection Come to our location at 710 N. Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny on the day of your bridal consultation. This is an important one!
FILLING OUT OUR REGISTRATION FORM When you arrive, your consultant will meet with you and fill out your registration form while she gets to know a little about you. When you answer all of the questions they will help us figure out what you're looking for, what price range you'd like to stay in, as well as determining our timeline for ordering and altering your gown. Do not feel overwhelmed if you do not have all the answers at this point in their wedding preparation, most brides don't. So, a fabulous idea would be to spend a few days before you come in to really picture your wedding and talk to your fiancé and family about budget.
MEET FOR THE BRIDAL CONSULTATION MEETING You will sit down for a 10 minute meeting with your bridal consultant. We call this is our "getting to know the bride" time. If you don't exactly know what you're looking for, that fine, most of the time we can determine the style and look that would best suit the bride within minutes of entering The Bridal Connection.
TRY ON DRESSES! Based on your registration form and the meeting, your bridal consultant will pull out dresses at that time for you to try on. Tell us what you like, what you don't like and we'll go from there. This part of the process usually takes about an hour and a half until we can find or create the perfect wedding gown. Once you find the perfect gown it's time to try on veils and accessories to complete the picture.
ORDER YOUR DRESS Most dresses take about 4 months to arrive. After your dress arrives, a Bridal Connection consultant will call you to let you know your dress is in and to schedule your fitting.
Remember: Bridesmaids and mother's dresses can take up to 4 months to arrive and they also need to factor in time for alterations. Don't put it off if you're in a crunch for time!
THE FITTING During your fitting we will determine if any alterations need to be made. Be sure to bring your shoes and accessories to the fitting so we have an accurate idea of what you will look like on your wedding day! Typically we will make alterations to the hemline, waistline and add a bustle. We also do alterations to create sweetheart necklines or transform any gown we carry into a gown that replicates the bride's dream gown. Give us a minimum of 8 weeks for alterations.
FINAL FITTING Once your alterations are complete, we will call to schedule your final fitting. All you need to do is come in, try on your gown and we will make the small last minute changes before the big day!
STEAM & PRESS We will steam and press your dress so it's perfect for your wedding day.
